Ganesha is known as Vighnavinayaka or one who eliminates all hindrances. He is viewed as the divine force of shrewdness, judiciousness and success. In the Ganapathi Upanishad, Ganesha is related to the Supreme Self. The legends that are associated with Lord Ganesha are recorded in the Ganesha Khanda of the 'Brahma Vivartha Purana.' There are two such famous stories - 'The Curse of the Moon' and 'Who is Elder?'
